Channing Arndt, an expert in our SA-TIED programme and divisional Director of Environmental and Production Technology at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), appeared on Talk Radio 702 following several days of unseasonably heavy rains in the Gauteng province.

The radio channel asked Professor Arndt to appear on Afternoon Drive with Joanne Joseph. In his interview with Joanne Joseph, Professor Arndt explained the heavy rainfall, “We have higher temperatures globally and there is more water that is evaporating out of the land, plants, and ocean and as a result there is more that is coming down."
