Public revenue mobilization for inclusive development — Work in progress meeting

Researchers from the Public revenue mobilization for inclusive development work stream of the SA-TIED project met in Pretoria, South Africa to share the preliminary results of their research work in progress. The annual Work-in-Progress meeting provides an opportunity for researchers to share initial results, gather feedback, and consider areas for research advancement.

The researchers present continue to expand the body of research using administrative level tax datasets and tax-benefit microsimulation models in order to support evidence-based policy formulation in South Africa, especially as it relates to improving the collection of and efficient use of public revenues for inclusive development objectives.

The lead authors of several forthcoming SA-TIED Working Papers presented the preliminary findings of their work. The day's programme is available to download here.

Policies that promote inclusive development need to be built on reliable facts. The research presented here is one way that SA-TIED supports a sustained and inclusive development path for South Africa and the region.
