SA-TIED presentations at ESSA's 2019 Bienniel Conference

SA-TIED was present in Johannesburg during the 2019 Biennial Conference of the Economic Society of South Africa to share research results from some of the programme’s work.

The ongoing research presented at the conference included SA-TIED researcher Ayanda Hlatshwayo’s inquiry into the dynamics of wage growth in South Africa’s manufacturing sector, Aalia Cassim’s analysis of recent amendments to South Africa’s Labour Relations Act intended to improve the situation of temp workers, and a research team’s study of the macro-level employment effects of offshoring among South Africa’s manufacturing firms.
