An SA-TIED work-in-progress Working Paper will be presented on 23 January 2025, at the African Development Bank’s Research Seminar by SA-TIED Researche Fellow Aimable Nsabimana.
The Working Paper, titled "How does Automation Affect Firms and Labor Markets in Developing Countries?", explores the effects of automation technology on firm productivity, employment patterns,and wages in South Africa.The presentation will detail how automation has reshaped manufacturing sector performance and labor market outcomes, offering insights into both the opportunities and challenges it presents.
