On 11 November 2024, Gcobisa Magazi (National Treasury) presented SA-TIED Workstream 5’s research on climate financing to Parliament in a webinar titled “Just Transition: Exploring Key Themes in Preparation for COP29 – Sustainable Climate Finance.”

The discussion highlighted the role of sustainable climate finance in supporting South Africa’s transition to a low-carbon economy, addressing funding mechanisms, policy frameworks, and investment strategies essential for resilience and economic growth.
